Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Every SnapToolz tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Files are read locally, processed in memory, and the result is offered as a download. There is no backend.
Which image formats are supported?
JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC (iPhone photos), AVIF and GIF — input and output where the format makes sense. The convert tool transcodes between any pair.
Can I batch-compress photos?
Yes — drop multiple files at once into Compress Image. Each result is shown with its savings percentage so you can verify quality before downloading. Resize, Convert and EXIF Remover all support batches too.
Will I lose quality?
Only if you pick aggressive settings. The default compression level is visually-lossless on most photographs. Use the resize tool's high-quality bicubic mode for resampling without softness.
What's the best tool for shrinking images to a specific KB target (50KB, 100KB, 200KB)?
Compress Image has KB-target presets that combine intelligent resizing with quality tuning to land within the target size. Useful for online forms, KYC uploads, and email attachments where there's a hard upload limit.
Does the EXIF Remover strip GPS coordinates?
Yes — re-encoding via canvas inherently removes EXIF, including GPS. For explicit byte-level stripping (no re-encode, no quality loss), use the dedicated EXIF Remover tool which strips metadata from JPEGs without touching pixel data.
Is everything free?
Yes — every tool in this category and on the entire site is free with no sign-up, no daily limit, and no watermark.
