About View EXIF Metadata
Every photo from a smartphone or DSLR carries hidden EXIF metadata — the camera model, the exact GPS coordinates of the shot, the date and time, ISO and aperture, even the device's serial number on some cameras. The EXIF Viewer lets you read all of that locally, without uploading anything. Drop in a JPEG, HEIC, TIFF or even PNG and you get a structured breakdown of every tag the file contains. Useful for verifying claims about a photo, debugging editing software that strips data unexpectedly, or just satisfying curiosity about how a shot was taken.

Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Every tool on SnapToolz runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your file is read locally, processed in memory, and the result is offered as a download. Nothing is sent to a server — there isn't one to send to.
Which file formats can the viewer read?
JPEG/JPG (the most common case), HEIC from iPhones, TIFF, PNG (limited — most PNGs don't carry EXIF), and WebP. RAW formats are not currently supported.
Why can't I see GPS data on some photos?
GPS tags are only present if the camera/phone had location services enabled when the photo was taken. iPhones, modern Androids and DSLRs with GPS modules embed it; older cameras often don't. Some social-media platforms also strip GPS on upload.
Is this the same data Google Photos / Apple Photos uses?
Mostly yes. EXIF is the standard format both apps read. Apple Photos and Google Photos may also display additional album metadata they keep separately, which isn't in EXIF.
Does it work offline?
Yes. SnapToolz is a Progressive Web App. After your first visit, the app is cached on your device and every tool keeps working without an internet connection.
Is SnapToolz free?
Yes — every tool is 100% free with no sign-up, no watermark, no hidden tier. The whole platform is open source and we have no plan to gate features.
