About Crop Image
Crop any image with live preview and aspect-ratio presets for every common use case — Instagram square (1:1) and portrait (4:5), story / Reels (9:16), YouTube thumbnail (16:9), Facebook cover, custom ratios, or free-form. SnapToolz' cropper renders a draggable crop box over your image, lets you fine-tune position and dimensions in real time, and exports at exactly the right pixel dimensions for the target platform. The original file is untouched on disk; the export is a fresh JPG or PNG. Everything happens on a Canvas in your browser — no upload, no quality loss beyond the lossy export.

Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Every tool on SnapToolz runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your file is read locally, processed in memory, and the result is offered as a download. Nothing is sent to a server — there isn't one to send to.
Which aspect ratio should I use for Instagram?
4:5 (portrait, 1080×1350) takes up the most feed real estate and ranks better in the algorithm. 1:1 (square, 1080×1080) is the classic feed format. 9:16 (1080×1920) is for Stories and Reels. Pick based on where the post lives.
Will the cropper change my image's pixel quality?
No — cropping is just selecting a subset of the existing pixels. There's no resampling. JPG export is lossy at the encoding step (configurable quality); PNG export is lossless.
Can I crop multiple images at once?
v1 is one image at a time because the crop frame is interactive (you have to position it). For batch resize-to-aspect work, use the Aspect Ratio Converter — it applies a fixed crop strategy (cover / contain / blur-fill) to dozens of images at once.
Does it work offline?
Yes. SnapToolz is a Progressive Web App. After your first visit, the app is cached on your device and every tool keeps working without an internet connection.
Is SnapToolz free?
Yes — every tool is 100% free with no sign-up, no watermark, no hidden tier. The whole platform is open source and we have no plan to gate features.
