Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Every tool on SnapToolz runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your file is read locally, processed in memory, and the result is offered as a download. Nothing is sent to a server — there isn't one to send to.
Where is my draft saved?
In your browser's local storage. Close the tab, come back tomorrow, your data is still there — but only on this device and this browser. Clearing site data or switching browsers loses the draft, so export the PDF (and a JSON if you want to reimport later) when you're done.
Can I import an existing resume?
You can import any draft you previously exported as JSON from this tool — useful for keeping multiple tailored versions. Importing arbitrary PDFs or LinkedIn exports isn't supported because the formats are too inconsistent to parse reliably; copy-paste into the form is the most reliable path.
Will the PDF pass ATS resume scanners?
Yes for the Classic template — it uses a standard single-column layout with selectable Unicode text and no graphics, which is what most ATS parsers expect. The Modern template has a sidebar which some older ATS systems struggle with; prefer Classic if you're applying to large enterprises with strict pipelines.
Does it work offline?
Yes. SnapToolz is a Progressive Web App. After your first visit, the app is cached on your device and every tool keeps working without an internet connection.
Is SnapToolz free?
Yes — every tool is 100% free with no sign-up, no watermark, no hidden tier. The whole platform is open source and we have no plan to gate features.
