Is there a limit on how many splits I can produce?
No artificial limit. Splitting a 1000-page PDF into 1000 individual files works fine — the ZIP just gets bigger. Practical limits are your device's memory for the temporary intermediate state.
What's the difference between Split and Extract?
Split produces multiple output files (one per range, or one per page). Extract combines selected pages into a single new PDF. Pick Extract when you want one document containing only the chosen pages; pick Split when you need separate files.
Are page-level annotations and bookmarks preserved?
Yes — annotations move with their page into the output file. Document-level bookmarks pointing to pages that ended up in a given split file are kept; bookmarks pointing to pages in other splits are dropped from that file.
Does this work for password-protected PDFs?
PDFs with owner-only restrictions (limited printing/copying but open access) work fine. PDFs that require a user password to open need to be unlocked first — use the Unlock PDF tool or open them in a viewer that accepts the password.
