Most free 'PDF to Word' tools gate the download behind an email signup, a daily quota, or a 'free preview' with a watermarked output. SnapToolz doesn't — the converter runs entirely in your browser, so there's no back-end to bill against and no email harvest at the end. PDF.js extracts every positioned text run from the document, the converter clusters them into lines and paragraphs, and the output is a clean .docx that opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice or Apple Pages. The trade-off is honest: PDF to Word is fundamentally lossy in any tool, so what you get back is a faithful reproduction of the text — not a pixel-perfect re-creation of the original layout. For single-column body text — articles, reports, books, emails — conversion is clean.

Open PDF to WordFrequently asked questions
Why do other PDF-to-Word tools ask for an email?
Server-side converters pay for the GPU/CPU time per conversion, so they bill users via email signup, ad views, or a paid tier. SnapToolz runs the conversion on your device, so there's no per-conversion cost — and no reason to gate behind an email.
Will the formatting and layout match the original PDF?
Text content is preserved faithfully — paragraphs, line breaks, font sizes within reason. Layout-heavy elements (tables, multi-column layouts, embedded images, custom fonts) are simplified. PDFs that started as single-column body text convert cleanly; PDFs that started as DTP layouts get flattened.
Will tables come through?
Tables come through as their cell text, paragraph by paragraph — table structure is dropped because PDF doesn't reliably mark tables as tables. For data-table-heavy PDFs use PDF to Excel instead, which has a proper table detector.
What about scanned PDFs?
Scanned PDFs are images of text, not text — the extractor has nothing to read. Run scanned PDFs through OCR first to add a text layer, then convert that to Word.
Does the .docx open in Microsoft Word?
Yes — the output is standards-compliant OOXML. It opens cleanly in Word, Word Online, Google Docs, LibreOffice Writer, and Apple Pages.
